We strive to be among London’s best restaurants, since opening in 2011 SUDA has been a big hit with locals, the Thai community in London and visitors from all corners of the globe. Each month we get a lot of reviews on TripAdvisor from our happy guests, and we’d like to share some of them with you.
I like my thai curries hot, spicy and authentic just like in Thailand. I have been to Thailand over 20 times so know my thai food. I cannot bear the curries tailored towards the British palate which tend to be too sweet and not spicy enough. I asked for an authentic, spicy thai red curry with tofu and that is precisely what I got. It was gorgeous. My husband had a prawn dish which he loved and an added bonus is they do ice cold Singha beer on draught. It was the best thai curry I have had outside Thailand and they were very generous with the tofu. It looked exactly like it did in the picture on the menu.
Service was very good, it was the day of Pride and we sat in the window table. I could not fault it. The décor is fresh, funky and sumptuous, excellent choice.
We ate lunch here on Wednesday 28th June, luckily I spotted this restaurant on Quandoo booking site, otherwise I won’t have discovered this hidden gem, in a tranquil small square off Upper St Martins Lane.
When each course arrived it looked tempting to the eye, and tasted even better.
We shared the Suda’s Platter, delicious, followed by Giant King Prawn Pad Thai and Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin, both were presented and tempted your taste buds, and tasted great. The beef was one of the best I’ve tasted, tender and flavoursome.
Each course was served by friendly and helpful waiting staff, and a nice wait between each course. The portions are good, and we wanted to try the dessert menu, however we couldn’t manage, but next time we will be trying the “Sticky rice & Mango and the Banana Fritters with Ice cream”.
A special thank you also to the manageress who was so helpful, she firstly sorted out a drink offer in booking with the Quandoo website, visited our table during the meal, and at the end we congratulated her on a good meal, and we exchanged holiday memories with her on our last visit to Thailand. Thank you for a lovely experience, we shall be returning shortly, together with friends.
